Traveling outstation in tourist buses is dangerous allege members of Shiv Sena's Pranit-Maharashtra Shiv Vahtuk Sena. They have written letters to the collector, Regional Transport Commissioner and other authorities complaining that commercial goods are illegally transported in tourist buses.
Shareef Desmukh Karyahyaksh and Sajid Supariwala, Vice-President, of Maharashtra Shiv Vahtuk Sena had given the complaint in December 2017 under the guidance Haji Arfat Shaikh, Shiv Sena Deputy Leader. The drive was started against the illegal use of private luxury buses for transporting commercial goods which do not belong to the passengers. It was mostly found on Mumbai-Gujurat, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Mumbai-Bangalore and other routes.

Desmukh had complained about the same to different authorities including local unit of RTO in Vashi, Kalamboli and Pune about the illegality since the past month. The Sena members have found many such vehicles in the drive.
Supariwala claims that not only commercial products but the RTO has also seized iron rods and steel materials. "We found that in most of the cases the goods carried were not of the passengers and that the tourist drivers and cleaners are earning a side income from this," added Supariwala.

Supariwala further claimed that he has also found motorcycles being loaded in the luggage compartment of the buses. "In the past two days we along with the Navi Mumbai RTO caught hold of more than 50 buses that were carrying illegal goods. It is dangerous and in most of the accidents the reason is overloading," said Supariwala claiming that they will also approach the Pune RTO for such drives as Mumbai-Pune route too has many such illegal cases and has fast&nbsp;connectivity.
Deshmukh claims the passengers should be alert and inform the authorities about it. A senior official from Navi Mumbai Regional Transport office said, "The drive has been going on since the last few months. Last month too we took action against 100 such buses."
