A week after this paper highlighted unlit pockets on Sion railway station’s platform No 1, commuters now have reason to breathe easy. Railway authorities have installed lights in the dark spots on the platform.
The issue was reported by mid-day last week after a woman’s gold chain was stolen and commuters complained that the ongoing work outside the station had left parts of the platform poorly lit. The darkness was particularly concerning around the area where women’s and general first-class compartments halt.
