An aerial display organised by the Indian Air Force (IAF)—Mumbai Air Show 2024—will be held between 12 noon and 1 pm over Marine Drive on January 13 and 14. The Mumbai traffic police have issued a travel advisory in light of this as a massive crowd is expected to witness this event.

A traffic police note read, “Parking is not available in the area. To facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of pedestrians, during the show at Marine Drive, certain traffic regulations will be implemented on the two days between 9 am and 5 pm. All types of vehicles except emergency service ones and those ferrying VIPs or service providers are prohibited as per the requirement.”

The note exhorted the people to use public transport, especially trains. The police said that N S Road (north), Veer Nariman Road (north) and Dinshaw Vacha Road would remain closed on January 13 and 14 between 9 am and 5 pm.

The statement read, “N S Road North Bound will remain closed for all types of vehicular traffic except emergency vehicles proceeding both bounds (sic) from NCPA, Girgaon Chowpatty.”

Due to the event, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) runways 09/27 and 14/32 will be non-operational from 12 noon to 1 pm on January 12, 13 and 14.

“Passengers are urged to verify their scheduled flights with their respective airlines before heading to the airport during these days. Your cooperation is appreciated,” a social media announcement by CSMIA stated.
