Garbage truck crushes two sisters under its wheels at Sion-Koliwada

Two girls were brutally killed after they were run over by a speeding garbage truck in Sion-Koliwada.
According to the Wadala police, the incident took place near the MHADA colony around 10.30 am.

The victims Fatima (4) and Noorjihan (2) were standing outside a store, while their mother Ishrat Mohammed Shaikh (23) was purchasing grocery.

Officials maintained that the truck was speeding and the driver lost control over the vehicle, crushing the two kids under its wheels.

Both the girls were immediately rushed to the Sion Hospital but were declared dead on admission.

The police confirmed that, the truck driver identified as Raees Sheikh (30) has been apprehended and is charged for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.

Assistant Police commissioner, Dilip Suryavanshi said that Sheikh has been subjected to medical test to infer whether he was drunk at the time of the incident.
