Abhishek Sharma (26), a resident of Malad, died after he fell off the first class compartment of a Virar-bound fast local at around 10.55 pm yesterday.

The incident took place at Lower Parel station when Sharma leaned out of the compartment to spit.

According to Mumbai Central police, "Sharma was taken to Nair hospital were he was declared dead on arrival.

He suffered from a head injury." The cops added that Sharma was carrying a gift box with him, which he was probably taking for his family.
