State plans to offer Rs 2 lakh to rape and acid attack victims

While the state witnesses an alarming rise in the number of atrocities committed against women, the Democratic Front government is planning to set up two authorities for the rehabilitation of victims of acid attacks and rape cases.u00a0

To earn a livelihood: The state Women and Child Development Department has moved a proposal that says Rs 20,000 will be given immediately to the victim, while Rs 50,000 will be given for medico legal assistance. A sum of Rs 1.3 lakh will be deposited in the bank account of the victim, which can be utilised for rehabilitation. Representational Pic
