While all Std IX and XI students have to be promoted to the next academic year, there can be internal evaluations but there should be no such mention on the report card of students. The state government’s education department has warned all schools about this. Schools and junior colleges are allowed to hold assessments in formats wherein students will not have to report to their institutes. But the circular mentions that these assessments should  not be a reason to hold students back in the same class.

The circular states, “Schools and junior colleges can set up committees to decide these different formats of assessments that may be possible at their levels. While on one side, this plan is being jotted; teachers should also prepare report cards of students based on internal evaluations held until now. The marksheets of students should have performance of students in these two aspects combined instead of semester-wise break-up score.”
