The Bombay High Court on Tuesday asked liquor manufacturers in the state to come up with a solution to avoid recycling plastic bottles used to pack liquor, or face a ban on plastic bottles.

The state government, with a notification, has banned the use of plastic bottles from April 1 to pack liquor, as it is a health hazard. There are environmental issues also, as the bottles are not recycled, and liquor manufactured in other states can be easily smuggled in the state.
