The Bandra police arrested two people — a man and a woman — in two separate incidents for allegedly attempting to enter Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West. The police have registered two different FIRs, one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday, and have begun investigations into the matter.
Police have identified the two people as a 22-year-old woman, Nisha Chabra, a junior artiste who wanted to meet the actor, and a 22-year-old fan of Khan, Jitendra Kumar Hardayal Singh. “In the first incident, Singh was seen loitering near Galaxy Apartments on Tuesday around 9.45 am. He told the security guard that he wanted to meet Salman Khan, but the guard refused and advised him to leave the premises. Singh became angry and threw his mobile phone at the ground before leaving the area,” said a police officer.
However, later that evening, Singh returned at around 7.15 pm and managed to sneak into the society, hiding behind a car. A police officer and security guard Kamlesh Mishra caught him and handed him over to the Bandra police for further investigation. The Bandra police promptly registered an FIR against Singh and arrested him. Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh, told the police that he is a fan of Khan and wanted to meet the actor for a selfie, but the security guard did not allow him. This prompted him to enter the apartment unlawfully.
In another incident which took place on Wednesday, Chabra was caught by the security guard and police while trying to enter the Galaxy Apartments. The woman, a junior artiste, told the police that she wanted to meet Salman Khan in the hope of getting film roles. She also revealed that she has been struggling to find work in the film industry for some time, and that the actor had given her appointment so she tried to meet him. Khan, who has received several threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has been provided ‘Y-plus' security cover by the Mumbai police.
