An alleged suicide pact between a teen couple claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl and landed her 19-year-old boyfriend in the hospital after their parents asked them to end their affair a week ago. The boy is currently battling for his life at a civic-run hospital in Vasai.

Officials from Tulinj police station said the girl, a student of Std IX, left home on Monday morning on the pretext of visiting her sister to discuss part-time job opportunities for the upcoming summer vacation. When she did not return home in the evening and failed to answer phone calls, the parents launched a frantic search.
Assuming that she must be spending time with her boyfriend, the angry parents landed up at the boy&rsquo;s house. However, the residence was locked and they returned home.
They once again checked the house at 9 pm and to their horror, this time they saw their daughter and the boy, lying lifeless on the floor and foaming at their mouths. They immediately rushed the two to the hospital. While the girl was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, the boy&rsquo;s condition is said to be critical.
Cop speak Inspector Prakash Birajdar from Tulinj police station said, &ldquo;Prima facie it appears that the couple formed a pact to end their lives together. We have registered a case of suicide against the girl and attempt to suicide against the boy. The picture will get clear only once the boy is out of danger and we can record his statement.&rdquo;
