Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Supriya Sule expressed concerns on Tuesday about the violence in Manipur, querying why the northeastern state is treated so poorly despite being a vital part of India.

Per a PTI report, speaking to the media, Baramati MP Sule mentioned a terror attack in Jammu as Narendra Modi was inducted in as Prime Minister for a third term. She, while responding to a query on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remark, stated, "We have been questioning the government over the Manipur issue for months. A lot of discussions took place in the Parliament over the Manipur situation. Manipur is an integral part of the country. The people, women, children there are Indians."

RSS president Mohan Bhagwat stated that peace had escaped Manipur even after a year, emphasising the importance of prioritising the state's predicament. Sule addressed the attack on the Chief Minister's convoy in Manipur, which raised severe concerns.

"In Manipur, the convoy of the Chief Minister was also attacked. It shows that somewhere something is going wrong. A word is not spoken about Manipur, though we sought a discussion on the issue. Leaders from the INDIA bloc travelled to the state, but we were stopped there. Manipur is an integral part of India, and why is it being meted out such treatment," she said.

Sule, a re-elected MP, stressed combating unemployment in Parliament. She also expressed concern about companies leaving Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi, adding that nearly 6 lakh people work there. The Maratha Chambers of Commerce has invited NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar to visit with enterprises and persuade them to stay in Maharashtra.

Regarding the NEET-UG 2024 scandal, Sule chastised the Central government for outsourcing exam administration. The Supreme Court requested statements from the Centre and the National Testing Agency about suspected malpractices and a question paper leak. Sule questioned the need for so many tests and pushed for easing the strain on pupils.

When asked about Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne's unhappiness that his party did not receive a cabinet slot after winning seven Lok Sabha seats, Sule backed his justifiable demand, citing his performance and the Sansad Ratna award. She emphasised Barne's long experience with the BJP and understanding of how the party treats its allies.
