A 17-year-old boy committed suicide yesterday morning, after a spat with his mother over sleeping late. The deceased, identified as Narendra Yadav, had a fight with his mother who scolded him for sleeping till 11.30 am.

&ldquo;After the fight, he got agitated and committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling using his mother&rsquo;s saree,&rdquo; said investigating officer Pradip Pandit, Rabodi police station.
Narendra, visited his family residing in Kesharmill, Thane, five days back. After failing in Std XI, he was sent to his native village in Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), where he took admission directly in Std XII 12 and secured 74 per cent.
&ldquo;I am still shocked. He was a gentle boy and reacting like this is unexpected from him. I am still not able to understand why he took such an extreme step,&rdquo; said his 22-year-old cousin Anant Yadav, who lives nearby.
His friends too can&rsquo;t believe that Narendra would commit suicide after fighting with his mother. Talking to mid-day, Yogendra Yadav, a 19-year-old childhood friend of Narendra, said, &ldquo;We don&rsquo;t know why he did this. All was fine in his life. He loved his mother and also posted a picture with her on Facebook on this Mother&rsquo;s day.&rdquo;
He is also survived by his father, a fruit-seller and two brothers, Surendra (12) and Hemendra (25).
