Thane: Container truck falls into Metro construction pit on Ghodbunder Road, driver injured

A container truck carrying 25 tonnes of scrap tyres plunged into a 10-foot-deep Metro construction pit on Ghodbunder Road in Thane on Sunday. The driver was trapped inside the cabin for around 15 minutes before being rescued by firefighters with minor injuries

A container truck driver was injured after the vehicle plunged into a 10-foot-deep pit dug for a water tank as part of Metro bridge work in Maharashtra's Thane city on Sunday morning, civic officials said.

As per PTI, the incident occurred around 6 am near Chitalasar-Manpada police station on the city's arterial Ghodbunder Road.
