When the world was celebrating children&rsquo;s day, a 3-year-old girl in Bhiwandi was raped by a 60-year-old watchman. The Narpoli police have arrested the watchman Manilal Dhamke (60), who says he is &lsquo;sorry&rsquo; for committing the heinous crime.
Dhamke is also a resident of Bhiwandi and worked as a watchman in the housing society the toddler resides in. The incident took place on Monday at around 11:30 am behind a Ganesh temple, located in Kamatghar in Bhiwandi. The girl was playing in the compound, when Dhamke, who was on duty, took her in a corner.
Left her bleeding &ldquo;The watchman sexually assaulted the minor, after which she bled. The girl approached her mother who was shocked to see her bleeding. She narrated how the watchman of their building had sexually abused her. When the mother questioned Dhamke, he and his wife started arguing with them. The girl&rsquo;s family then approached the police and a case was registered,&rdquo; said SD Jadhav, senior police inspector, Narpoli police station.
Accepts crime A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the stringent POCSO Act. &ldquo;The accused was arrested on Monday night and was produced in court on Tuesday. Strict action will be taken,&rdquo; added Jadhav.
