Several parts of Thane will face a 48-hour water supply shutdown beginning midnight, Tuesday, June 23, after authorities decided to implement precautionary water cuts amid concerns over delayed monsoon rainfall and declining water availability.

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Monday announced that water supplied through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) network from the Barvi, Jambhul and Shahad water treatment plants will remain suspended from midnight on Tuesday, June 23, until midnight on Thursday, June 25.
