The Mumbra traffic division of Thane traffic police and Digha police on August 4 registered criminal cases against 30 motorists caught driving on the wrong side during a special enforcement drive at Kalyan Phata. The joint operation was conducted between 9 am and 12 noon on the Khidkali-Kalyan stretch. Police found several motorists, including car drivers, two-wheeler riders and a woman biker, driving against the flow of traffic.
Criminal action
Instead of issuing routine traffic challans, police registered criminal cases against the motorists at Shil-Daighar police station for allegedly endangering public safety by driving in the wrong direction.
