A 23-year-old son of a head police constable, attached to the Protection branch of Mumbai Police, was among the seven people arrested recently by Kalyan crime branch for attempting dacoity. The accused were about to loot a petrol pump, when the Kalyan crime branch sleuths laid a trap and arrested all seven.

After the arrest, the accused confessed to two dacoities they committed in the past. Cops have recovered cash, mobiles, a fridge and LCD TV they purchased from the cash. They mostly keep a watch on people moving with cash and accordingly plan and rob them.
