Four, and not three individuals, died after the girder of the Kopri bridge collapsed on a Kalyan-bound train on Friday morning and brought the rail traffic on the Central line to a complete standstill for over three hours.

While the motorman R Ramchandran (42), and two passengers Subhash Nikam (35), and Gopal Ghadi (69) had earlier been identified as the casualties in the mishap, it came to light on Friday night that the accident also indirectly claimed the life of Abasaheb Jadhav (55), who fell off the roof of the train he was travelling on after he touched an overhead wire, nine hours after the accident.
Jadhav was on his way to his Kalyan home on the jam-packed local train that was ferrying passengers stranded for several hours due to the Kopri accident.
