The Thane city police on Monday have issued a traffic advisory for Kalyan East area due to pipeline work near Ulhasnagar's Khadegolwali, resulting in changes to vehicle routes.

Mumbai Traffic Police announce car parking in Worli, check complete rules here

Earlier, the Mumbai Police announced temporary traffic and parking arrangements on Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road in Worli and shared a detailed list of traffic rules for the area.

According to a traffic notification, the decision was taken following a significant reduction in vehicular movement after the opening of the Dharmaveer Swarajyarakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road (Mumbai Coastal Road).

The notification stated that the stretch between JK Kapoor Circle and Bindu Madhav Junction is wide enough to permit limited parking without affecting the flow of traffic.

Residents and joggers seek parking facility

Residents living along the road and people visiting the Mumbai Coastal Road promenade for jogging and walking had requested permission for parking in the area.

After reviewing the situation, traffic authorities concluded that single-lane parking for private cars and two-wheelers would not disrupt the smooth movement of vehicles.

New rules issued

Officials said an earlier traffic notification for the road has been temporarily stayed.

Instead, a new temporary ‘No Parking’ order has been issued to ensure the safety and convenience of pedestrians and motorists. Parking will be strictly prohibited at sensitive locations such as school gates, bus stops, zebra crossings and building entrances.

Temporary order valid till March 2026

The order has been issued by Dr Dipali Dhate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ & Central), Traffic Mumbai, under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The temporary traffic arrangement will remain in force round the clock from 12.01 am on December 26, 2025, until March 25, 2026.

Locations where parking is prohibited

Parking will not be allowed at the following locations:

• Near Green Lawns School gate — from 7.00 am to 12.00 pm
• National Association for the Blind (India), from Electric Pole Nos. 2 to 21 — 24 hours
• Near Worli Sea Face BMC School gate, from Electric Pole Nos. 19 to 17 — from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm
• In front of all residential building gates — 24 hours
• At all zebra crossings — 24 hours
• From the Coastal Road north-bound exit to J. K. Kapoor Circle — 24 hours
• From Bindu Madhav Junction to the BEST bus stop (north-bound) — 24 hours

Traffic police appeal to motorists

The Mumbai Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to strictly follow the new parking rules to avoid inconvenience, obstruction and penalties.

Officials said the arrangements are temporary and may be reviewed based on traffic conditions and public response.
