Thane: Thane Zilla Parishad will introduce concept 'Maji Shala, Pragat shala' (My School, Advanced School) from the current academic session, facilitating schools to buy study materials.

ZP chief executive officer Uday Choudhary said under the new scheme ZP-run schools will be allocated funds for purchasing materials like uniform, books and other study materials, unlike the earlier practice where ZP made the purchases and then distributed to schools. He said as per the previous procedure, instances of disparity in distribution were observed, hence, to weed it out, the new concept has been introduced.
