The Rambo Circus, currently on at the St Andrew’s Auditorium, Bandra West, is running to packed halls. Ever since circuses moved from tents to air-conditioned auditoriums post COVID, the declining footfall starting showing an upward spike. The owner of this circus, Sujit Dilip, has also been innovating every year, constantly bringing in new talent.

His latest addition is a robotic elephant. Biju, 53, the clown, who has been with the circus for 40 years, says many things have changed, but seeing crowds still come in remains the high-point for the performers. Biju also sells light-up toys to the children who come to watch the show and uses the money to help the families of his colleagues who died during COVID. The circus is on until October 19.
