Two minor girls from Mumbai,&nbsp;who had been taken to Gujarat and forcibly married, have been&nbsp;rescued by police from Ahmedabad.&nbsp;
Following a complaint lodged by another girl, who had&nbsp;also been taken to Gujarat along with the two minor girls,&nbsp;Mumbai police nabbed one accused within 24 hours on April 16.
"A woman, identified as Meera Salve, had promised to&nbsp;provide a job to the three girls. The girls, residents of Wadi&nbsp;Bundar of south Mumbai, were then taken to Gujarat. However,&nbsp;once they reached, the girls were forced into marriage," Sunil&nbsp;Kawlekar, senior police inspector of Pydhonie police station&nbsp;in south Mumbai, said.
"However, one of the victims managed to escape from&nbsp;the clutches of the accused and reached Mumbai. She then&nbsp;approached us and filed a complaint on April 15," he said.
Following directions by the Additional Commissioner of&nbsp;Police Krishna Prakash, two police teams were sent to Gujarat.
"We took help of the local police and inquired those&nbsp;against whom the victim had lodged a complaint. We rescued two&nbsp;minors girls and arrested one accused. However, another&nbsp;accused (husband of one of the girls) managed to flee," he&nbsp;said.
As per the information, the prime accused in the case&nbsp;Meera Salve, a resident of Kalyan, has fled to Dhulia in north&nbsp;Maharashtra, Kawlekar added.
An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the&nbsp;IPC, police said.
