Body of man swept away in Malad drain recovered after intensive search operation

The body of a 38-year-old man who fell into a rain-swollen drain in Malad East was recovered after an extensive search by the police and the NDRF.

The body of 38-year-old Yogesh Verma, who was swept away after falling into a rain-swollen drain in Tanaji Nagar, Malad East, on the night of July 5, was recovered on Wednesday morning following an extensive search operation by the Kurar police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

According to police, the search operation resumed at around 6 am from the spot where Verma had fallen into the drain. Teams traced the course of the stormwater drain, which eventually flows into a creek to the west of Evershine Nagar in Malad West.
