Underground parking beneath Oval Maidan, Cross Maidan, and other major open grounds, along with a signal-free corridor from Nariman Point to Uttan, are among the key proposals in the Maharashtra government’s ambitious transport infrastructure plan aimed at easing congestion and improving connectivity across Mumbai.
‘Abuse me, not Maharashtra’
Referring to the landslide that led to the closure of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway’s Missing Link on July 6, following which he was trolled for calling the project an engineering marvel, before taking it forward,” Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “People may abuse me; I am used to it. But I will not tolerate anyone insulting Maharashtra.” Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Fadnavis said that while today’s criticism would eventually be forgotten, people would remember him and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde for delivering the project. He added that the Missing Link had reduced travel time and reduced accidents and fatalities on the ghat section.
