Addressing Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav, Adityanath praised Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for defying Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's authority

During an event in Alandi, Maharashtra's Pune district, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the combination of "bhakti (devotion) and shakti (power)" resulted in the construction of the huge Ram temple in Ayodhya, signifying the end of "500 years of slavery."
Addressing the Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav, Adityanath praised Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for defying Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's authority, reported PTI.
According to the report, the recent dedication of Ram Lalla's idol at the Ayodhya temple was marked by a magnificent event on January 22 of this year.
Adityanath stated that the convergence of devotion and power led to the creation of the majestic Ram Mandir, which symbolised the end of a long period of servitude. He emphasised the importance of witnessing such a historic event, the report added.

"The confluence of bhakti and shakti led to the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya by breaking the saga of 500 years of slavery. We got the opportunity to see that unprecedented moment," he said, per PTI report stated.
According to the report, Adityanath acknowledged Maharashtra's legacy and recognised the state's fortune in obtaining blessings from saints over the generations. He attributed the state's valour to its relationship with venerated saints. The chief minister commended Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's combination of dedication and strength, emphasising his role in defying Aurangzeb's rule and leaving a legacy of courage.
"This shakti, emanated from bhakti, is beating the enemies. Samarth Ramdas had created Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj from this land, who challenged Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's power and left him to suffer and die and no one is concerned about him till today," he said.
Adityanath described his visit to Agra, where he campaigned for renaming a museum dedicated to Mughal history after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, emphasising the state's ties to the Maratha king rather than the Mughals, the PTI report added.
He also emphasised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of a military corridor in Uttar Pradesh named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, expressing confidence in the country's armed forces' path to self-sufficiency.
"A 'Mughal museum' was being constructed. I said that the museum should be named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as we are linked to him and not Mughals," he said.
"I am sure that the country's armed forces are achieving the aim of getting atmanirbhar (self-reliant)," he added.
