A woman reportedly created chaos at Kurla station in eastern Mumbai while she was allegedly caught travelling without a valid train ticket, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on the half-operational foot overbridge (FOB) towards the Kalyan end, they said.
According to railway officials, when the on-duty Ticket Checking (TC) staff asked the woman to show her ticket, she attempted to run away. When stopped, she allegedly began shouting and used abusive language towards the staff.
At Mumbai’s Dadar railway station, a woman sparked a scene after being stopped for a ticket check on the foot-over bridge. Dressed in office attire, she loudly argued with ticket inspectors and RPF personnel, refusing to show her ticket or pay the fine.

An official statement said that the situation escalated when the woman reportedly manhandled Jaspal Rathore, the in-charge TC, in front of other commuters on the FOB. To handle the situation, a lady TC and a lady RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel were called to the spot. With their help, the woman was taken to the RPF office for further action.
After calming down at the RPF office, the woman admitted to travelling without a ticket and apologised for her rude behaviour. She agreed to pay the penalty for the offence.
"She was fined Rs. 260 as per railway rules, and a receipt was issued to her for the same," said an official.
The railway officials stated that the passengers must cooperate with the staff and travel with valid tickets to avoid such incidents.
