Despite heavy rains in Mumbai, no waterlogging has been reported at the city airport and the operations so far were normal, sources said on Tuesday as old videos from an airport in Mexico and the Chennai airport surfaced online with claims that the Mumbai airport was flooded.
Mid-day accessed an exclusive video footage from the taxiing area of Mumbai airport, which clearly showed that there was no waterlogging on the runway or surrounding areas.
The footage from the Mumbai airport accessed by mid-day reporter, showed that the airport runway was operational, with no sign of flooding or water accumulation.
Earlier, images and video clips shared on social media platforms suggested a flood-like situation at the city airport. The visuals also caused concern among the public.
However, a video shared online claiming to be of Mumbai airport appeared to be from August, 2017 and of Mexico’s Benito Juarez International Airport. Whereas an another also shared online with similar claims turned out to be an old one from Chennai airport.
