Over 1,000 residents of Ghansoli housing complex oppose civic body’s decision; commissioner assures them he will ‘look into the matter’

A housing complex in Ghansoli has opposed the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s (NMMC) decision to create a dedicated COVID centre on its premises. After the objection from residents, there are more than 1,000, NMMC Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar has said he will look into the matter.
COVID-19 cases are increasing in NMMC’s jurisdiction since February. As of Tuesday 9,620 patients were under treatment. NMMC is in the process of increasing beds and is locating more hospitals for the same.
