IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai as thunderstorms, rain likely to continue till June 4

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai on June 3 and 4, forecasting thunderstorms, moderate rainfall, lightning and gusty winds up to 50 kmph. Heavy pre-monsoon showers caused waterlogging and traffic disruptions, including the temporary closure of the Andheri Subway

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai for June 3 and June 4, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds. 

The weather forecasting agency said that Mumbai and surrounding areas are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places across the city.
