The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and other parts of Maharashtra.

The weather department predicted that hot and humid conditions would continue during the day and there was a possibility of light rain or thundershowers towards late afternoon or evening.
