Western Railway completes bridge 370 regirdering at Virar–Surat section

As part of the project, six steel girders with a clear span of 12.2 metres were safely removed. Railway engineers then launched 21 PSC slabs, each weighing approximately 35 tonnes, into their designated positions

A major railway infrastructure upgrade has been successfully completed on Bridge No. 370 between Bilimora and Amalsad in the Virar-Surat section of Mumbai Division of Western Railway. The regirdering work, involving the replacement of old steel girders with PSC (Pre-Stressed Concrete) slabs, was completed over the past two days, officials said.

The operation was carried out during planned traffic blocks of four hours each on both the Up and Down railway lines.
