The Railway Police Force (RPF) left a youth, nabbed by a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector last night for harassing a girl, with a warning.
Retired Assistant Sub-Inspector Dattaray Narayan Jadhav (57), who has a slight handicap in his left hand, was returning home to Dombivli when the incident took place in the Karjat-CST local. He said, &ldquo;At 7.36 pm the train reach Badlapur railway station. I was in the handicapped compartment, when a youth hopped in. Now, the handicapped section is just behind the ladies compartment. As soon as he entered, I heard women screaming &lsquo;Catch him&rsquo;. When I asked the guy, he told they are mad people and I should ignore it.&rdquo;
Jadhav said soon after, two women boarded the handicapped compartment at Ambarnath and started abusing him. &ldquo;The youth kicked one of them and slapped her. When I intervened the girl (in her 20s), said the youth had been harassing her since a month. She said just like today, he had stalked her to her office on Wednesday. I nabbed the youth from fleeing and some others informed the RPF.&rdquo;
However, Jadhav said, when the train reached Ulhasnagar, the youth was handed over to RPF, but they released him with a warning. He said, &ldquo;They didn&rsquo;t even register a case against him. I saw the youth threaten the girl after he was left by the RPF, saying he will avenge this incident. What if he did attack her any day from now?&rdquo;

Sources said, fearing for her life, the girl also refused to register a complaint. But Jadhav said a video clip has been procured which clearly shows the face of the culprit.
Speaking to mid-day, Kalyan Government Railway Police Senior Police Inspector, A Rane said, &ldquo;I am not aware about the incident.&rdquo;
