The Women and Child Development Department has annuonced a special district-level 'Women Lokshahi Day' (Women Grievance Day) in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/ssc-admissions-2026-maharashtra-to-begin-post-ssc-diploma-admissions-from-may-20-check-details-here-23630679" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a> on Monday, May 18, 2026, officials said.
The aim is to provide a platform for women facing difficulties and grievances, they said.
According to an official statement, the programme aims to help women present their complaints, seek guidance and receive support for the protection of their rights.
The event will take place at the Collector Office from 11 am to 1 pm, the District Women and Child Development Office said.
Officials stated that the initiative would help women receive guidance and assistance from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/bike-taxi-crackdown-maharashtra-cyber-police-writes-to-google-apple-asks-to-remove-apps-offering-bike-taxi-services-23630677" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">government authorities</a> regarding personal complaints and problems.
<h2>Complaint forms available at Worli office</h2>
Application forms required for filing complaints are available at the District Women and Child Development Officer&rsquo;s office located at 117 BBD Chawl, first floor, Worli, the statement said.
It said that the complaints must be submitted in the prescribed format and should be personal in nature.
Officials stated that court-related matters, applications without supporting documents, service and establishment-related issues, and complaints not submitted in the prescribed format will not be accepted during the programme.
The District Women and Child Development office had appealed to women to submit complete applications with all necessary documents.
<h2>&lsquo;Lokshahi Day&rsquo; on June 1 in Thane</h2>
Meanwhile, earlier, the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com//mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-one-city-one-command-bmc-to-decentralise-disaster-response-under-new-udma-plan-23628850" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC)</a> had stated that it will organise its next &lsquo;Lokshahi Din (Public Grievance Day)&rsquo; on June 1, and has urged citizens to submit their applications and representations by May 18 to ensure their complaints are addressed.
According to the civic body, citizens must file their complaints at the municipal corporation headquarters or at the Citizen Facilitation Centre in two copies at least 15 days prior to the scheduled day. Each submission must be accompanied by Form-1(B), which will be made available at the facilitation centre.
The TMC has clarified that the process is being followed as per a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-makes-revised-national-pension-scheme-optional-for-employees-sets-rs-7500-minimum-pension-23629151" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra </a>government circular dated September 26, 2012. As per the guidelines, no complaints will be accepted on the day of Lokshahi Din itself. Citizens are required to submit their grievances in advance so that the concerned departments can study the issues and come prepared with proper replies.
