The World Environment Day was celebrated at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park on Sunday in presence of Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javdekar. The theme was "go wild for life" which encouraged people to safeguard species under threat.
The unveiling of a short film “Living with leopards" made by Naturalist Sheren Shreshta for 'Mumbaikars for SGNP' initiative of the park that was started by the former SGNP Director Sunil Limaye and Biologist Dr Vidya Athreya got appreciated by many. There was a street play based on the theme World Environment Day by school children, which also received a good response.
