'Beating Retreat' ceremony to be held today

The nation is set to witness as many as 26 performances, with the foot-tapping music, on this year's 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony that will be held at the Vijay Chowk here on Monday

The nation is set to witness as many as 26 performances, with the foot-tapping music, on this year's 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony that will be held at the Vijay Chowk here on Monday. Bands from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the State Police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) will participate in the ceremony. Out of the 26 performances, 25 tunes have been composed by Indian musicians and 'Abide with me' will be the only western tune to be performed here today.
