Civic body will survey about 25 km of sewer lines in the western suburbs; Rs 18 crore cleared for the project
In a first-of-its kind implementation, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to survey about 25 km of sewer lines in the western suburbs using Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to monitor cracks and problems in the lines, and then carry out repair works. The sewerage operations department of the BMC proposed the idea. The survey would cost the civic body Rs 18 crore and the proposal has already been cleared.

Wait ’N’ watch: Only those sewers where human entry is possible would be surveyed. Other repairs would also be carried out. File Pic
