Neelam Gorhe says Mankar's candidature as an Independent doesn't bother Shiv Sena

"Deepak Mankar is an insignificant and least important candidate," Dr Neelam Gorhe, Shiv Sena spokesperson told MiD DAY. PMC corporator Mankar, who has over 10 cases registered against him, including one of alleged dacoity, was granted bail on September 15 and is now Independent candidate from Kothrud.

Framed
Mankar has alleged Gorhe and Sena corporator Shyam Deshpande are framing him. "Those who tried to ditch me will fall in their trap. Voters will certainly teach them a lesson. I am innocent and people know my credentials. It will be seen in the Assembly elections," claimed Mankar.

Gorhe was unfazed about Mankar's assertions. "We don't consider him a Sena opponent. He is not a major contender and will finish 5th or 6th," said Gorhe. She added that the Shiv Sena has always opposed candidates with criminal backgrounds and has nominated people only with clean backgrounds.
