Interior design student Aditi Jindal (21) does not know that she lost more than her right foot in the German Bakery blast on Saturday her friend Aditya Mehta (21), who was with her in the Bakery, succumbed to his injuries yesterday. The friends were about to leave when the bomb exploded.

While Aditya was rushed to Jehangir hospital, Aditi, who is critical and in the ICU, was taken to Inlaks and Budhrani hospital in Koregaon Park.

"We hail from Ambala. My daughter is pursuing a course in interior design here. She had told me that she would be going to the bakery with a friend," said Abha, Aditi's mother.

"Woh ek baar mujhe dekhta toh bach jaata," said Meera. Aditya was her only son. "She has not eaten a morsel since he died. She just wanted him to open his eyes for her once. Before he died, both his legs had to be amputated by doctors," said Mangesh Mukhedkar, a family friend of the Mehtas. Aditya's father Jaiprakash was waiting for his son's body outside the morgue.
