The girl had got a suspicious SMS four days before the attack
An unidentified youth, posing as a visitor threw acid on a 30-year-old woman and fled on his bicycle in Sadashiva Nagar.
However, the alert woman, in trying to save herself, sustained burns on her legs.
The victim, Bharati, heard someone calling out to her, while she was home. She opened the door, and found an unidentified youth aged around 25 years standing outside.
