Cops don't come tougher than her. So much so that Chhaya Sharma, the seniormost of three women IPS officers currently serving in Delhi Police, recently earned the sobriquet of 'gangster DCP' from commissioner BK Gupta. Now moved to south district from outer Delhi, Sharma says she is prepared to deal with the media glare that comes with the post.
You have recently been appointed DCP of south district. What are your plans for the area?
Though I have recently joined here as DCP, I was posted here as additional DCP around thirteen months ago. I have served here for one year and seven months. Even in that period, I was actively involved in handling issues related to crime, law and order, district administration etc. I know the entire area very well. South district has always done well in detection of crime not only pertaining to this area but also in catching criminals affecting other localities.
