After a 17-year-old mute and deaf girl brazenly concocted a story of her own rape in a public toilet, her mother took her to the police to register an FIR. The cops then took her to Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopar (East) for medical tests. While cops investigated the case in earnest, they started feeling that something was amiss when medical tests revealed that there were no injuries, external or internal, to the girl’s private parts.

According to doctors attached to the hospital, the teenager was brought in around 5.30 am to the casualty ward accompanied by her mother, sister, and the police. She was then referred to the gynaecologists for examination.
