One person died and 19 others were injured in a fire that started after a gas tanker explosion in Mankhurd.

The incident at happened at around 1.45 am today on the Sion-Tombay highway.

Reportedly, the tanker turned turtle and fell in a nearby nullah. This was followed by a blast leading to the fire.

Traffic on the route was being diverted following the incident. The fire is under control now.
