A simple trip to a hospital to visit his aunt on October 8 proved unfortunate for 10-year-old Saurabh Kamble as his thumb was crushed by au00a0lift, in a freak accident. Saurabh's mother, Sulakhshna, a vada pao vendor, has filed a complaint against Dr G G Purohit for negligence and not employing a liftman.

Saurabh, along with his mother, had gone to Purohit hospital to congratulate his aunt as she had delivered a baby boy. He had stepped out of the room to drink water.

"The place where he drank water from was near the lift. That day, that area near the lift was crowded. He accidentally touched the grill of the lift. At the same time, someone downstairs called for the lift. As the lift went down, Saurabh's thumb was crushed," said a sobbing Sulakshna.
