A 100-metre stretch of the Yamunotri National Highway near Syanachatti in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district was damaged after a landslide triggered by continuous rainfall, disrupting traffic movement along the route, officials said.
The landslide occurred on Thursday, with debris affecting an area of nearly 1 km and completely blocking vehicular movement. Authorities said restoration efforts have been affected due to persistent rainfall and unstable conditions at the site.
