110 kg of banned plastic bags seized

In a joint action taken by officials from Ghole Road, Aundh and Dhole Patil Road ward offices yesterday, about 110 kg of plastic bags worth Rs 29,090 were confiscated from 89 shopkeepers on Karve Road, Aundh and Dhole Patil Road

The bags were less than 50 microns, which is illegal.u00a0Zonal Commissioner Suresh Jagtap said that on Karve Road, the Ghole Road ward officials discovered 11 shopkeepers selling plastic bags of less than 50 microns.

Similar action was taken against 32 shopkeepers in Aundh and bags weighing 58 kg were seized. On Dhole Patil Road, action was taken against 46 shopkeepers and bags weighing 40 kg were seized.u00a0
