Twelve people were seriously injured in a bizarre accident involving four vehicles at Urse toll plaza on Pune-Mumbai Expressway around 4.30 pm yesterday.
Those hurt include a doctor and technician from Lokmanya Hospital and two employees of IRB. According to Talegaon Dabhade police, all the four vehicles were travelling at high speed when they rammed into each other near the toll plaza.
An Indica first hit the other vehicles after the driver lost control. The IRB employees arrived and an ambulance of Lokmanya hospital rushed to the spot. While they were conducting rescue and relief operations another car hit them.
This is the second major accident in less than a week’s time at the toll plaza. A lawyer and three real estate agents had died in a mishap last Wednesday after a truck, tempo and two cars rammed into each other while trying to cut lanes.u00a0
