A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her house in Saidabad area here, police, said today. The girl, a class 10th student at a government school,
consumed some poisonous substance after returning from school, and was found unconscious in the bathroom around 6.30 pm by her parents, said inspector K Sattaiah of Saidabad police station.

"She was taken to a nearby private hospital first. Then she was shifted to a state-run hospital where she died during treatment," he said. "The girl's father has not expressed suspicion about anyone (being responsible for her extreme step), but we are investigating the matter thoroughly," the police official said.
