Encouraged by the results of a surprise drive on Sinhgad Road on September 19, in which 296 motorists were fined for violating traffic rules, the traffic police held a special drive from 10 am to 1 pm yesterday. They targeted Tilak Road, Alka Talkies Chowk, Good Luck Chowk, Fergusson College road, Dyaneshwar Paduka Chowk and Agriculture College junction and a separate drive was also carried out on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway.

Fined: Offenders were found guilty of jumping traffic signals, talking on mobile phones while driving, cutting lanes, sporting fancy illegal number plates and riding triple-seat on motorcycles. File pic for representation
