2 teen-inmates of remand home attempt suicide

Apparently fed up with constant harassment, two teenage-inmates of a remand home in powerloom town of Bhiwandi near here made an unsuccessful attempt to commit suicide, police said today.

The two, aged 16 and 17, made the attempt over the weekend by consuming phenol and are now undergoing treatment in a hospital here, they said.
When contacted, authorities at the remand home said the two tried to take their lives due to internal feud between the children housed at the facility.
