According to the police, Anjali Srivastava committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan using a dupatta. Anjali slept in a room on the ground floor of Abdul Latif chawl in Lokmanya Tilak Nagar at Kandivali (W), while her brother, Vikas (30), slept on the first floor with his wife and 10-month-old daughter. While leaving for office, Vikas found Anjali hanging from the ceiling. He rushed Anjali to Bhagwati hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. After the police were summoned, an accidental death report was registered and her body was sent for post-mortem. &ldquo;Anjali had come here just six days ago. As she wanted to study further, her father sent her to Mumbai to live with Vikas so that she could continue with her education,&rdquo; said Hareshwar Pimple, senior inspector at Kandivli police. In his statement to the police, Vikas said that they had gone to Juhu beach on Sunday evening, after which they had dinner and watched television together. He even saw Anjali asleep at 12.30 am when he came down to drink water. &ldquo;We have informed her father, who has left from Patna. We will question him to get leads on why she took the drastic step. Her family does not suspect any foul play,&rdquo; said a cop from the Kandivli police station.u00a0
